I have a case open with MS and the only thing that has helped thus far is an idea that I came up with.replacing the Calibri version 5.62 included with Office 2010 with the version 5.0 Calibri font of Office 2007. This came from one of the Microsoft Answer Groups: If you pull the Calibri font from Office 2007 and overwrite the Calibri font in 2010, it will correct the problem. The devices hang and the queues must be cleared and the device rebooted to correct. We did verify the version numbers in both Office 20. It looks like Microsoft used a newer version of the font in Office 2010 that is causing the problem. (printing garbage (PCL code) or sometimes PS Error - Invalid Font: xshow) MS did release a fast publish KB article on this (KB2592142) but like you, we have not had success with installing Calibri 5.62 on our serversīTW - we have seen other models/drivers affected by this issue but the symptoms vary depending on the PDL used. Give that a try and let me know the results - the more info we can share on this the better :) The print file will be slightly larger but not nearly as large as coverting the fonts to images.

(among other things) I have not tested the PS driver but I beleive that setting the PostScript Output Option to Optimize for Portability will accomplish the same thing. The makes the print file more page independant by making font declarations every page instead of just the header. In my case, we are using the PCL driver and was able to correct the issue by disabling the Print Optimization feature in the driver. We had numerous WC74xx producing 116-324 and 016-720 errors and we traced to this font issue. Yes, if I ever need to replace my current 720, I will certainly consider another just like it when doing my pre-purchase research.I have also been struggling with this new version of Calibri font causing printing problems. However, my main disappointment is the price that Dell charges for replacement cartridges luckily, you can now pick up a third-party cartridge for much less cost, and they last just as long and print with the same quality results. My only negative concerns the ink cartridges life of the black and white cartridge is good, but that of the color cartridge is below my expectations. The printer is user friendly easily put into service from right out of the box print quality is clear and crisp with very few paper jams. After several hours research, I decided that the best replacement was one of like kind! This printer is used both for personal and business printing in black and white and on rare occasion, printing photos using colored ink. I recently had the need to replace my Dell 720 printer that was purchased five years ago with my computer.

I think Canon ink would be a little bit better, but it costs about three times as much. I have a link to the store where I order ink at /ink I personally use a Canon Pixma pri nter (love it) and buy third-party ink for it. The quality might be a tad bit lower than the real stuff, but it's a whole lot cheaper. Even less expensive are third-party "compatible" ink cartridges that sell for $3 or so. These manufacturers sell replacement ink that doesn't include a new print head, making the ink cheaper to buy. If you print a lot, look into getting a Canon or Epson. I don't actually own this printer, but as far as I know its print quality is just fine. If you don't print much, that's probably OK. All of Dell's printers are made by Lexmark, and like Lexmark printers they tend to require very expensive ink. Why? Dell hopes to make money off the very profitable ink cartridges. Dell gives this printer away with a lot of the computers it sells.
